We do not remember the days ……. We remember the moments.My name is Kara K and there are three sounds that I really love …   A baby ….belly laughing  A champagne cork popping                        & The shutter on my camera.   I was born September,19 1980 in Toronto Ontario. I have always had an interest in the arts was a triple major at an arts school and received an arts endorsement on my O.S.S.D.  I have been in love with photography for 10 years and have been involved in various photography workshops and courses for the last 2 years.      I am absolutley committed to ensuring that your life is captured in beautiful moments after all “we do not remember the days , we remember the moments”  Kara K

The wedding of Caitlin Thomas to Joshua Meyer

 

April 12 2008

April showers bring ………. Mr and Mrs Meyer.  On & off all day the rain came down but inside  the church was gorgeous (as was the bride) and the ceremony was so beautifully written.  Shooting this couple and their friends and family was sooo much fun.  They are a  very energetic and friendly group and it was my absolute pleasure to be behind the lens. I hope they love their wedding album as much as I loved putting it together.  I wish Caitlin Josh and Hannah Meyer all of the best things that life has to offer.

Smiling Eyes

 

I have signed on to be involved with a great non profit organization called smiling eyes.

I met with Christine Kufske of Click Photography at a Starbucks and over green tea and mocha latte’s we chatted about the amazing work that is being done for people/families fighting cancer.  Christine is very warm and easy going and I felt at ease with her immediatley.  Its no wonder that she has had such a huge response to her free photo shoots through smiling eyes. 

 

I will be donating 2 photo shoots a month to this organization.

If you know of a friend or family member whom would benefit from a smiling eyes photo shoot please let me know and we can get you into contact with smiling eyes.

 

Looks like I am here……to stay!

My name is Kara K and after months of deliberation I opened the doors to my business Purple Door Photography in January of this year.  I have to admit the response was way more than I expected. Yayyyyy.   Photography is my passion and to be doing what I love is a dream come true for me.  I want to thank everyone that I have done photo shoots with, capturing your lives has been an absolute pleasure.  My plans for Purple Door Photography are Big ……”Huge” you might say.  Looks like I am here …… and I’m planning on being here to stay.

Sean & Heather Wade

 

Heather & Sean Wade January 5th 2008

January 5th 2008 was a fairly wet day in Whitby.  But the weather inside was all about the love.  Heather and Sean looked amazing and their son Jack was a show stopper in his little tux.  I almost couldnt take my camera off of him.  They are a beautiful family and I wish them all of the sweetest things that life has to offer.  Thanks for allowing me to shoot such an amazing wedding I was honored to be there.
